The "M" Family

This morning I had a sweet session with the "M" family. We had outdoor plans for our session but mother nature had other plans for us. But as they say, the show must go on. So we came up with a sweet solution . . . candy apples! And then, the rain slowed down long enough to get a few outdoor shots. In the end, the session worked out great. Thanks guys for a fun morning. Here's a teaser for you. Enjoy!

Yummy!!

The "E" Family

This afternoon, I had a session with the entire "E" family. It was a perfect afternoon for pictures. The light was great to work in. And it was also Mr. & Mrs. "E"'s 45th wedding anniversary. 45 Years and still in love!

The whole family.

Hide 'N' Seek with Miss. *K*

This morning I had a fun session with Miss. *K* at Lapsley Orchard. It was a beautiful sunny but crisp morning. Miss. *K* was a little under the weather but she warmed right up and was a natural! We had a great game of hide 'n' seek in the orchard. Thanks guys, here's a peek at your session. Enjoy!

A little love and reassurance from Mom and she was good to go!

I love this shot, but then, I am a big fan of serious shots.
Not to worry though, I got plenty of smiles too.

One big happy family!

This afternoon I had a fun session with a wonderful extended family. These guys were so funny! They are the kind of family you what to hang out with all the time. YKWIM? The weather was great for our session. However, it was a super sunny, not to worry though, I had a wonderful assistant. Thanks *J* you were a BIG help! Here's a few teasers for now. Thanks again guys!

A is for apple . . .

This morning I had a fun session with the *G* family at their fabulous home. I photographed them there last year so I knew it was going to be a blast this year too. Seriously, they have the best location for a session. I mean I could shoot there dozens of times and never do the same shot twice. Toady's hidden gem was a rusty old apple truck. OMG, it was love at first site, for me anyways. LOL! And the truck was the perfect addition to our apple themed session. Thanks so much guys for another wonderful morning. Hope you enjoy your sneak peek.

All most full for '09!

Alright everyone, my calendar is bursting at the seams! All the mini sessions are now booked. I have one spot left in October and two left for November for standard sessions. I will not be taking any sessions in December. I'm looking forward to spending the holidays with my family. The only exception is newborns. I always do my best to squeeze newborns in during the first two weeks of life.

So if you want a session before the holidays please contact me soon! Once they are gone, that's it. I am also starting to book '10. (For you planners out there!)

The order deadline this year will be December 7th. All orders must be placed before that date to guarantee Christmas delivery.

I am looking forward to a very busy and fun fall season! Stay tuned to the blog for all the sneak peeks!

And because you know I can't post without a picture, here's another one of that sweet newborn from last week. Enjoy!

P.S. And if you haven't already click the follower link at the bottom of the page so you can be sure you won't miss a post!

What to wear for fall sessions

What you wear to your session is an important part of creating great images. When you are making your clothing choices, it's best to choose simple, brightly colored clothing. (Patterns are good too, just remember to keep them minimal for group sessions.) Try to stay away from too much white or too much black, and please no large logos or character type clothing. Anything with texture photographs really well. (i.e. Denim, ruffles, embroidery, buttons, corduroy & chunky knits) Consider layering your clothing, this adds visual interest and also allows for easy wardrobe changes.

Another point I wanted to mention is notice that I don't have the siblings all matchy-matchy. While it's OK to have some things match, it really looks better if they aren't wearing the exact same thing. Choosing coordinating items rather than the exact same thing allows for more visual interest and helps to express the child's individuality.

Being a visual person myself, I wanted to show you a few examples of things that work really well.Hope this helps you plan better for our session. Looking forward to a wonderful fall season!

P.S. As always, feel free to contact me with any questions you may have and Happy Shopping!

My Kiddos

I haven't posted pics of my own kiddos in ages, so here a few from yesterday. The babies, did great. I couldn't believe they actually let me photograph them. (Note to self, must stop calling them babies, they are two after all!) Emma however was not in the mood and this was the best I could get. LOL! The poor kids totally have "PCS" - Photographer's Child Syndrome.

Anyway, that's all from our house for now. Stay tuned to the blog this week. I will be posting what to wear ideas for your upcoming fall sessions, the '09 Christmas card designs, as well as a few sneak peeks. Happy Labor Day! Enjoy!

Tonight I had such a fun session with *J*. She is so "super cute", you just can't help but love her! We had the best time, like two girlfriends goofing off. It was great! I had to post these first two silly shots, they are just so her. But I did want to post a more serious portrait type picture too, had to make sure mom knows we didn't goof off the whole time! LOL! Thanks again *J*, I had a great time. Hope you enjoy your sneak peek!
